API Valves
What Are API Valves?
API valves are industrial pipeline valves designed and manufactured with reference to API (American Petroleum Institute) standards, primarily for oil, gas, petrochemical and power generation service. The API designation means the valve design, material selection, pressure-temperature ratings, face-to-face dimensions, end connections and test procedures follow recognised API specifications such as API 600, API 608, API 6D, API 598 and ASME B16.34.
API valves are commonly specified in projects where procurement standards require API compliance documentation, where the service involves flammable, high-pressure or critical media, or where project owners and EPC contractors prefer API-referenced designs for consistent engineering, inspection and quality assurance across global supply chains.
API Valve Types Available from Honiks
Honiks is a factory-backed industrial valve supplier in China. We work with a network of qualified partner factories to supply the following API valve types:
API Cast Steel Gate Valves: Class 150-2500, NPS 2-48, RF/BW/RTJ ends, API 600 / API 6D design reference. See HN100.
API Cast Steel Globe Valves: Class 150-2500, NPS to 36, RF/BW/RTJ ends, BS 1873 / ASME B16.34 design reference. See HN102.
API Swing Check Valves: Class 150-2500, swing-type disc, RF/BW/RTJ ends, BS 1868 / API 6D design reference. See HN104.
API Floating Ball Valves: Class 150-2500, floating ball design, fire-safe and anti-static reference. See HN105.
API Fixed Ball Valves: Class 150-2500, trunnion-mounted design for larger sizes and higher pressure classes. See HN106.
For high-pressure service, Honiks also supplies pressure seal gate and globe valves in Class 900, 1500 and 2500 configurations. See HN101 (pressure seal gate valve) and HN103 (pressure seal globe valve).
Common Standards
API valves from Honiks are supplied with reference to the following API and ASME standards:
API 600 — Steel gate valves, flanged and butt-welding ends
API 608 — Metal ball valves, flanged, threaded and welding ends
API 6D — Pipeline valves (gate, ball, check)
API 598 — Valve inspection and testing
ASME B16.34 — Valves — flanged, threaded and welding end
Pressure Classes and End Connections
API valves are available in pressure classes from Class 150 through Class 2500. End connections include raised face (RF), butt-weld (BW) and ring type joint (RTJ), depending on pressure class and project specification. The available size range varies by valve type and pressure class. For project-specific availability, contact Honiks with your line size, pressure class, medium and end connection requirements.
Materials and Project Documentation
Standard body materials include carbon steel (A216-WCB), Cr-Mo alloy steel (A217-WC6) and low-temperature carbon steel (A352-LCB). Stainless steel options are available for selected valve types. Honiks can coordinate material certification, NDE reports, third-party inspection and API-compliant project documentation according to project requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions
What API valve types can Honiks supply?
Honiks can supply API cast steel gate valves, globe valves, swing check valves, floating ball valves and fixed ball valves, as well as pressure seal gate and globe valves for high-pressure applications. Contact us with your valve specification for a current availability check.
What pressure classes are available?
The catalog reference covers Class 150, 300, 600, 900, 1500 and 2500. The available size range depends on valve type, pressure class and selected end connection.
Can Honiks help match API valves to project specifications?
Yes. Send your project valve list, data sheet, pressure class, material grade, end connection and any inspection or certification requirements. Our team will review and propose matching API valve configurations from our qualified partner factory network.
