What Are Fixed Ball Valves?
A fixed ball valve uses bearing-supported trunnion components to hold the ball in position. Unlike floating ball designs, the torque response may be less sensitive to downstream ball loading than a floating design, but it remains dependent on differential pressure, seat load, materials, bearings and the offered configuration. This makes fixed ball valves suitable for larger sizes and higher pressure classes where floating ball designs would require higher operating torque.
